Affiliate Summit Las Vegas, #asw09, tricycle race video, Penn & Teller, and Friends

Two weekends ago I got a chance to hang out with some cool peeps at  Affiliate Summit West at the Rio. It was an event that I thought about going to but simply put it off because of the price. Well, I stumbled upon Copyblogger’s page (here’s the link to my submission) and wouldn’t you know it….he was giving some tickets away for the event. All I had to do was write a comment on why I should be one of the chosen to get a free ticket. Long story short…I commented and received an email letting me know that I WON. All I had to do was pay for a plane ticket and hotel. Got them both for under 500.00 for 4 days worth of stay in Vegas.

Since this was my first year attending, I received a mentor to guide me through the classes and the vendors that I should meet. Think about it. Have you ever gone to a conference that you were interested in but did not know anyone or even where to start? All that does is get you mad, depressed, and not willing to go back. Well, Affiliate Summit made sure that newbies (like me) had someone to go to for advice on getting the most out of the event. My mentor, SOUTH BEACH ANNIE! I couldn’t have had a better person. Not only did we get along Great, but I got to meet and hang out with some of the movers in the affiliate industry.(AWESOME)  The person who set this up was Jen Goode. Check her stuff out ….You’ll love it!!!

I don’t carry the cameras that I photograph weddings  because they’re just too large to keep in my back pocket! So I take my trusted Fujifilm Finepix. There are some really good digital point and shoot cameras that will do the job just fine. Besides, the purpose of these cameras is to just get the shot and not to make a fine art print, right?  Well, here are some of the photos for the weekend. I ran across the Lamborghini sales room at the Wynn, Pen and Teller, a few shots of Vegas and some of my friends!

THE BEST PART: was the tricycle race on the last day. SOUTH BEACH ANNIE made sure I was able to compete. Well, there were a lot of people photographing the race but no one was photographing or filming while racing! So, I thought I would do the job. The vid is sideways because that was the only way I was able to make it work. Let me know what you think. (It’s my second editing attempt with iMovie.
