P90X And The Wedding Photographer (Pt. 1)

If you’re a wedding photographer or know of one then you know how hard the modern day wed photog works to “capture those fleeting moments of bliss.”  Throughout the day you are running around, squatting down, balancing yourself on very unsafe objects to get that high angle shot, and don’t forget about lifting and carring the camera bag.  We carry just about everything in there and it’s a constant put it on, take it off, put it on, take it off…routine. So I thought that I would make a change in my workout routine by focusing on the entire body with the P90X workout.

I have thought about it for over a year and for some reason just never purchased it …. but finally I took the chance.  Last week, I recieved the infamous P90X workout DVD set for only $76 from amazon!  The reg price runs up to about 130.00 a set.  So this was a deal.

I’m sure you have seen the infomercials about what it can do for you in 90 days.  Just like everything thing else you look at all the before and after photos and the customer testimonials and say to yourself, “Hey, I think that could be me in 90 days.”  So after watching on of those shows, I sat back and pondered. “Peter,” I said to myself, “it might be time for a workout change.”  (I’ve been focusing on lifting weights at the gym and not so much of the cardio side of things.)

Not only does it come with 12 intense workout DVDs and a workout plan but  more importantly it has a book on eating more healthy during your 90 days. Now I know that eating is more about habits and behavior than anything else.  So if you can change your behavior and habit in eating healthier for 90 days AND SEE THE RESULTS, I think that you and me are going to keep those habits for the rest of the year.

What I like about the program so far (I’ve only had it for a little over a week) is the fact that everything is laid out for you.  All you have to do is read what workout you need to do and then stick that DVD in.  Can’t get any easier than that.  One thing you have to remember …. what you are seeing on the DVD your first day is what took 90 days to accomplish.  With that said…it is okay to stop when you need to.  It is important to listen to your body and not let your ego take over!

So I threw in the first DVD!!

Soon afterwards I let my friends on facebook (www.facebook.com/peterdoyle) know that at the end of the first DVD, back and chest, I have determined myself to be a……GIRL!

Now I consider myself to be a man’s man of sorts.

  1. I considered going on a fishing boat in Alaska but couldn’t because of college
  2. I run outside in the sun when it’s really really hot and humid
  3. I walked into the Grand Cayon, got lost, slept down there with just a knife and backpack and walked out the next day

But these workouts are going to take me to the next level. They isolate the muscle group as well as add some intense cardio into it.  P90X got me working harder than I have in a long time (even when I was lifting weights and running 2 hrs a day).

What Do You Think about it? Have you tried it?
