  1. I am the husband of a breast cancer survivor and the father of a breast cancer survivor. My wife had a dream about her mother telling her to get a breast exam. My wife thought about it for a few days and then went ahead and set up an appointment; soon after she received the results and was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer. She worked as administrative assistant at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas and that helped her with connections so she could get into see the right people (medical professionals) and start her treatment: surgery for lumpectomy, chemo afterwards, and then radiation. She is cancer free for over ten years;
    While my wife was getting her diagnosis, our daughter, Jessica, was in her MD residency program Mt Sinai, NYC. My wife told her to get herself checked; she reluctantly went to get a diagnosis and found out she had stage 3 breast cancer; she was devastated; being a medical doctor doing her residency in Psychiatry, she was fully aware of the emotional ups and downs and treatments. She had a full mastectomy, underwent chemo, had reconstructive surgery and is now cancer free over ten years also. She is a practicing psychiatrist, has married, and given birth to our grand daughter, Elliott Jane who is over two years old.
    Dealing with cancer is an life changing event with survivors who go onto fulfilling lives and know they are blessed.. There is a HIGHER POWER who can give you the strength to move forward and fight the cancer and live a fulfilling life.
